I can remember this day like it was yesterday. It was so scary, I live in Milford, which is about 65 miles away.

Anybody watching the news in New England would have been seeing the tornado cross the Conneticut River on live tv, it was pretty nuts.

News reports started out saying that a funnel cloud was sighted in Westfield, and then a small tornado crossed the river and dissapated, but it was just obstructed form the camera. The NWS expired the tornado warning just a few minutes later, although at this time downtown sprigfield was being crippled by the powerful tornado, which eventually came out being a strong F3, although some of the damage could have been an F4. After more reports of the tornado in Springfield and Wilbraham came in, the warning was reissued and the news crews were all over the storm, the tornado then went into Monson and did extreme damage, almost 80 buildings were destroyed in Monson. It then went into  Brimfield, and reached it's maximum width of half a mile, deforesting any of the trees in it's path, one person was killed in Brimfield in an RV park. The last of the pictures and videos were from Brimfield. By this time the warnings were still out, but the news crews reported that the tornado had dissipated somewhere in monson, saying that tornadoes in Massacusetts are "short lived" and don't go far. The tornado then tracked through Sturbridge, Southbridge, and finally dissipating in Charlton. The storm then headed in my direction, but no other tornadoes were in this same supercell. News crews then went back into springfield, showing partially collapsed multi-story brick apartments on Main street, but another thunderstorm came out of nowhere, and the crews went bak to hiding. At the end of the day, the news reported "at least seven tornadoes in Western and central Mass." and at least 4 deaths, and that dozens more were expected. It was later found that there were three deaths, the fourth was unrelated to the storm. Two people died in west springfield, one being crushed by a tree in their car, and another when their house collapsed. The third was in Brimfield, as I already mentioned. It was also disovered that there were only four tornadoes in Massacusetts, this F3 which tracked about 39 miles from Westfield to Charlton, an F1 tornado in Wilbraham, which was from the later thunderstorm, an F0 in Brimfield, also from the later thunderstorm, and another F0 in Fiskdale (a neighborhood in Sturbridge). Two more tornadoes occured in Maine, about two hours before this tornado. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_New_England_tornado_outbreak

The time for this tornado is incorrect. The tornado touched down at 4:17 PM, not 2:17. Here's a source to prove this:
