Sorry but this path is completely wrong. The tornado started in far SW Dallas, moved through Oak Cliff towards downtown then turned north towards Love Field and then NW dissipating over Bachman Lake. Since you can only do straight lines, it would be tough to put the path for this one, but at least start it down near Duncanville up to Love Field. Also, since no one's commented on this one yet, I'm from Dallas and so is my family and anyone alive that day in Dallas still remembers this one. It was the most photographed and one of the early filmed tornadoes because it went through a major city. Also, the film was used to finally get a grasp on wind speeds within tornadoes.

That is an excellent source of information on it.  I lived about a half mile from the touchdown point, and even though I was only 5.  It gave me nightmares that lasted into my teen years

I was living in East Dallas at the time and could easily see it across downtown. How do we get the path corrected on this website?

This is to concur with Derek.  I was 11 at the time and the path of the tornado was just a block from where our care provider looked after us.  To be more precise, that was the 3000 block of Publeo.  It was quite a sight as I recalled looking up into the sky and saw the funnel twisting with the corrupgated metal throughout.  Apparently, Mother was yelling at me to get into the car (1957 Chevy) and we started moving into the path of the event.  Someone came to their senses and we turned around and drove away from the event.  My wife to be, 7 or 8 at the time, saw the same funnel from her school on West Davis.
