Tornado History Project - Over 49,000 tornado maps. Statistics from 1950-2006.*

Help can be found by hovering over any "|?|" symbol. Data on this website has been collected from the Storm Prediction Center's (SPC) historical tornado data file.

Instructions:

Step 1 (required): Select your search parameters (Year, Month, State, etc...)

Step 2 (optional): If desired, limit your search to tornadoes that contain user submitted items (comments, photos, or videos.)

Step 3 (optional; "Table" view only): Select the statistics you wish to view (Date, Fatalities, Width etc...)  The most common choices have been pre-selected.

Step 4: Click "Map" to view results on a map, or "Table" to see results in tabular form.

Note: The Tornado History Project can not guarantee the accuracy of the data presented here (i.e. there may be errors native to the SPC historical archive.) However, data shown here are guaranteed to match data as given in the SPC historical tornado data file, except where noted. In cases where the Tornado History Project has found errors, the record will be shown in red text. In cases where the Tornado History Project suspects errors, the record will be shown in purple text
