About the Tornado History Project
The Tornado History Project was conceived and developed by Joshua Lietz in late 2005. The project's main goal is to
combine historical data with user submitted items (eyewitness accounts, photos, videos, etc...) to recreate the history of
as many tornadoes as possible. The Tornado History Project is not affiliated with the National Weather Service.
Special thanks go to the National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center and the National Climate Data Center for providing raw tornado data from 1950 forward. Also to Joseph Lietz (http://www.sephlietz.com) for teaching me the basics of CSS, Javascript, and MySQL.
